Our Hospital is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Kennel Attendant to join our caring team in Norwalk, CT! This is a fantastic opportunity for an animal lover who thrives in a fast-paced veterinary environment and wants to make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners every single day.
Responsibilities- Provide daily care for boarded and hospitalized animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and sanitize kennels, runs, cages, and common areas to maintain a safe and hygienic facility
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff promptly
- Handle animals safely and humanely, including dogs, cats, and other small pets
- Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with basic animal restraint as needed
- Perform laundry duties and maintain cleanliness of bedding and supplies
- Provide compassionate interaction and enrichment activities for boarded animals
- Genuine love for animals and commitment to their health and well-being
- Previous experience working with animals in a kennel, shelter, or veterinary setting preferred
- Ability to safely handle animals of all sizes, temperaments, and breeds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow sanitation and care protocols
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in an active environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays as needed
