Position: NS-Sports Coordinator: Summer Camp (Seasonal)

Sports Coordinator:
Summer Camp (Seasonal)

The Sports Coordinator works under direct supervision of the Camp Director to implement an effective sports program that encourages campers to develop motor skills, improve self‑esteem, and maintain a daily routine of physical activity.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with developing and implementing age‑appropriate sports and games activities for all campers (ages 7‑14).
  • Lead groups through daily athletic programming (5‑6 periods/day) including non‑competitive, team‑building activities and competitive sports.
  • Plan and supervise special activities such as the camp Olympics and basketball tournaments.
  • Maintain, clean up, pack up, and inventory all sporting equipment at the end of each season.
  • Teach campers new skills associated with physical fitness and sports, and encourage them to incorporate physical activity into their daily routine.
  • Encourage teamwork, minimize negativity, and promote positive interactions among campers.
Qualifications
  • Past experience as an educator, coach, camp counselor, or performer; experience with early childhood development is a plus.
  • Outstanding communication skills and professional demeanor in all interactions with campers, families, peers, and leadership.
  • Strong leadership and team‑oriented approach, capable of guiding and teaching specific programs from the camp curriculum.
  • Positive, outgoing, strong leader who loves working with children of different ages and backgrounds.
  • Safety‑conscious, able to enforce all safety rules and emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Available all six weeks, weekdays from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm June 22 2025 to July 31 2025.
  • Ability to lead planned activities daily (curriculum, training, and resources will be provided).
  • Administer basic First Aid if needed (training will be provided).
  • Attend all required trainings prior to camp season—CPR, First Aid, and Mandated Reporter.
  • Mandatory orientation:
    June 15 – 18, 2025.
