Medical Assistant/ LPN Norwalk Clinic Part Time

Join Trinity Health as a part‑time Medical Assistant/LPN at our Norwalk clinic. This role focuses on patient care, electronic medical records, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Recognize urgent/emergent patient needs and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of payor regulations and adhere to guidelines.
  • Follow clinic procedures and protocols for organizing, retrieving, filing, creating, repairing, and charging electronic medical records.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and utilize the healthcare team for patient assessment, data analysis, and education.
  • Evaluate patient and family understanding of treatment plans and instructions.
  • Assist with diagnostic equipment operation (e.g., EKG, spirometry, tympanometry).
  • Maintain appropriate aseptic technique for procedures and medication administration.
  • Accurately document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
  • Report results and pertinent information to patients and the healthcare team.
  • Perform tasks within the scope of license or certification.
  • Conduct basic medical assistant functions (vitals, rooming, procedure assistance, immunizations, medication injections) under provider supervision.
  • Maintain professional appearance of exam and procedure rooms.
  • Ensure supplies are stocked in assigned areas.
Marginal Functions
  • Provide cross‑coverage in other clinic areas as team needs arise.
  • Follow equipment maintenance protocols, identify problems, and coordinate repairs.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program (CAAHP or ABHES).
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification within the first year of employment, maintained thereafter.
  • Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the healthcare provider, certified within three months of hire.
  • Completion of mandatory reporter abuse training specific to the served population within three months of hire.
