Medical Assistant/ LPN Norwalk Clinic Part Time
Join Trinity Health as a part‑time Medical Assistant/LPN at our Norwalk clinic. This role focuses on patient care, electronic medical records, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities- Recognize urgent/emergent patient needs and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of payor regulations and adhere to guidelines.
- Follow clinic procedures and protocols for organizing, retrieving, filing, creating, repairing, and charging electronic medical records.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and utilize the healthcare team for patient assessment, data analysis, and education.
- Evaluate patient and family understanding of treatment plans and instructions.
- Assist with diagnostic equipment operation (e.g., EKG, spirometry, tympanometry).
- Maintain appropriate aseptic technique for procedures and medication administration.
- Accurately document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
- Report results and pertinent information to patients and the healthcare team.
- Perform tasks within the scope of license or certification.
- Conduct basic medical assistant functions (vitals, rooming, procedure assistance, immunizations, medication injections) under provider supervision.
- Maintain professional appearance of exam and procedure rooms.
- Ensure supplies are stocked in assigned areas.
- Provide cross‑coverage in other clinic areas as team needs arise.
- Follow equipment maintenance protocols, identify problems, and coordinate repairs.
- Participate in performance improvement projects.
- Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program (CAAHP or ABHES).
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification within the first year of employment, maintained thereafter.
- Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the healthcare provider, certified within three months of hire.
- Completion of mandatory reporter abuse training specific to the served population within three months of hire.
