Full‑Time Store Clerk

Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for a Full‑Time Store Clerk to accept, sort, and merchandise donated goods, cashier, and deliver outstanding customer service with our values of love, kindness, and respect.

Base pay: $15.00/hr - $16.00/hr a competitive starting wage is $14.50/hr with an additional weekend shift premium of $1.00/hr on Saturday and Sunday.

• Greet, assist, and engage with customers in a helpful and courteous manner.
• Receive donations from the public, sort donations, stack and organize sorted merchandise, and ensure quality standards.
• Work with supervisors to arrange and rotate items on the sales floor; keep merchandise organized and easily accessible.
• Practice safe cash handling and operate the cash register, including calculating and balancing as scheduled.
• Carry out general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, and mopping.
• Use equipment such as dolly, wheeled cart, pallet jack, and occasionally use a riding or walk‑behind forklift.
• Meet daily production goals and other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• A high school diploma, GED, or minimum of four years of full‑time paid employment (military service counts).
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends.
• Physical ability to carry, lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds and tolerate temperature variations.
• Ability to stand for long periods and be at least 16 years of age.
• Effective communication and basic math skills.
• Must pass a criminal background check and a dependent adult and child abuse background check.
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends to support business needs.
