. This full‑time 8‑hour shift position, based in the Occupational Health Clinic, offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, 401(k) match, paid time off, tuition assistance, and more.
Performs drug and alcohol testing, vaccinations, lab draws, TB skin tests, hearing and vision tests, Work,‑er's Comp and physical exams. Assists in minor office procedures, injections, patient intake assessments, discharges, and patient education. Works collaboratively with the Occupational Health team to provide high‑quality services with a focus on compliant processes and employer directives.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients using patient identifiers and AIDET.
- Perform all Occupational Health clinical tasks including physicals, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, lab draws, vaccinations, medication administration, chart preparation, electronic reporting, and accurate documentation.
- Process results, paperwork, faxes, referrals, and other required forms.
- Perform charge entry for services provided, with knowledge of available services.
- Cross‑train on front office duties such as registration, check‑in, and scheduling.
- Input patient information, check patients in and out, and schedule future appointments or outpatient tests.
- Answer phones and messages promptly, using strong phone etiquette with employer representatives or patients.
- Implement medical plan of care, clinical interventions, and procedures as needed.
- Develop knowledge of FMCSA and OSHA regulations and established protocols for compliant programs.
- Label, document, and track all specimens or tests according to set standards.
- Set up instruments and equipment, and clean exam rooms between visits following infection control and safety guidelines.
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness of services and documentation.
- Work as a team player, willing to assist in any role within Occupational Health and learn to help in Convenient Care.
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in medical assisting preferred).
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMMA, CMA, RMA, or similar) is preferred.
- Experience performing occupational health assessments and related procedures.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and FMCSA regulations.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
