Maintenance Technician-Bakery

Overview

Maintenance Technician-Bakery at New Horizons Baking Company. This role is part-time with a second shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), supporting bakery equipment maintenance to ensure production goals are met.

Base pay range: $27.00/hr salary range provided by New Horizons Baking Company. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience; talk with your recruiter to learn more.

• Assist with the installation and repair of bakery machinery
• Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and electrical/electronic test equipment according to safety and OSHA guidelines; comfortable in the use of PPE
• Diagnose malfunctioning equipment (e.g., transformers, motors, lighting) and develop repair plans; manage corrections on timelines, especially when production is affected
• Coordinate planned maintenance of all plant equipment to minimize downtime and meet customer orders
• Perform regular maintenance of components such as the Metal Detector in accordance with regulatory and corporate policies
• Have general knowledge of maintenance processes and company standards for efficient maintenance
• May lead projects as needed; work independently while supporting a team with a coaching approach

• Broad maintenance knowledge with expertise in at least one area: electrical, welding, mechanical, and/or PLCs
• Proper use of maintenance tools to support the team and perform emergency repairs
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals; able to train others on them
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, calipers, programmable controllers, robotics; safe with power tools
• Diagnose line problems and develop project plans that comply with regulatory requirements
• Follow electrical codes, manuals, schematics, blueprints, and project plans
• Ability to create/read reports and translate technical issues for non-technical operators
• Attention to detail and accuracy; effective communication and problem-solving mindset
• Diplomacy, tact, and a positive approach to implementing solutions, even with others who may not report to this position
• Education in a trade or vocational program or apprenticeship
• Minimum of 2-5 years of plant or industrial maintenance experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with computers; basic exposure to diagramming and project management is helpful
• Experience in a food processing environment is preferred but not required

• Ability to move about regularly and stand or sit for extended periods
• Ability to reach, bend, squat, and work in confined spaces
• Able to climb ladders and crawl under lines to diagnose problems
• Ability to lift regularly 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
• Ability to read and understand detailed instructions and drawings
• Work primarily in a plant environment with extreme temperatures
