General

Summary:

A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for delivery of optimal resident care through collaboration with all disciplines and the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and guides resident and family teaching and activities of LPN and NA while maintaining standards of professional nursing promotes a safe, caring, home‑like environment for the resident and families.

Essential Functions:
  • Applies knowledge of illness, injuries, and diseases and use available resources in assessment process to ensure accurate and appropriate care is provided and documented.
  • Responsible for assessing resident status, intervening to assist the resident to attain or maintain the highest practicable level of physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing; communicating pertinent information to other members of the interdisciplinary team, and accurate documentation of all care provided.
  • Participates in formulating the resident interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of State of Ohio Nurse Practice Act, hospital, Norwalk Memorial Home, Ohio Department of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Nursing Home regulations, and nursing policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
