Hospital Supervisor – Fisher-Titus Medical Center

Serves as the administrative resource person within the Hospital for interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures for all departments. Collaborates with department directors and nurse managers to guide staff in the process of problem resolution.

Full Time - Day Shift (7a-7p)

• Maintains current clinical knowledge relative to age and technology of patients from newborn throughout life span and keeps current with hospital policies/procedures.
• Works with department manager to determine optimal allocation of staff, per shift on each unit.
• Coordinates the care of patients on assigned shift and communicates shift concerns by unit to appropriate department managers/directors.
• Serves as administrative authority for the smooth function of all units on assigned shift. Notifies administrator and department manager of urgent concerns during shift; when concerns are non-urgent, notifies manager by phone message or e-mail and keeps Associate administrator informed of the needs and problems on a particular shift or unit.
• Receives employee, patient, and family grievances and refers information to appropriate supervisor.
• Assists in survey compliance, quality assurance and staff development duties as assigned. Notifies department manager and organizational development of identified learning needs.
• Follows identified tracking method for employee call-offs and notifies department manager/directors of call-offs in their units via attendance tracking.
• Supervises staff and assures survey compliance on a daily basis and provides guidance and support to staff to better plan work flow.
• Provides clinical expertise in the management of medical and psychiatric emergencies.
