Base Pay Range: $44,850.00/yr - $/yr

The Waste Acceptance Specialist determines safe, compliant, and cost effective disposal options for a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. The Specialist will provide prompt and thorough review of waste profiles, including inquiries about or corrections to chemical or regulatory information. This role will determine the best disposal option based on physical, chemical, and regulatory data and will approve waste into the Clean Harbors network of facilities.

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Assists customers (both internal and external) with regulatory and technical issues and works closely with Compliance and Health and Safety Departments to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and facility permits.
• Reviews and approves customer waste profiles, SDS, and other documentation for regulatory compliance. Identifies potential health and safety and operational concerns with waste management.
• Monitors incoming workload and allocates work to junior team members. Addresses general questions submitted by the field in real time.
• Provides real-time support to the field on SOPs, waste profiles, LDRs and regulatory guidance. Acts as a technical liaison for sales and customers. Maintains the profile database and generates accurate profile-level instructions to support health and safety and operational concerns. Recommends and implements strategies for process, quality, or service improvements.

• Decisive and takes initiative in problem resolution;
• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related field preferred;
• Two years in a technical capacity within the Hazardous Waste or Environmental Services Industry with working knowledge of environmental regulations, including RCRA and DOT.
