• The Teacher Aide is responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of center children.
• Assist staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
• Demonstrate compassion for the needs of children and families from all backgrounds.
• Learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures.
• Learn and implement developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
• Keep the classroom and playground clean, safe, and orderly.

• Starting at $18.00 per hour with minimum qualifications.
• $18.25 per hour with 6 credits in ECE.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Have access to reliable, insured transportation.
• Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health signed by a physician, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and every thirty-six (36) months for current staff.
• Must have or obtain and maintain CT Childcare Pediatric First-Aid, CPR, AED and medication administration certification.
• Must have or obtain within 90 days of hire the Care 4 Kids Health and Safety Training.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Be able to work 35-37 hours/week, 52 weeks/year.
• The TVCCA Little Learners Early Education Program requires staff to be available from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM to cover center operational hours on a rotational basis.
• Continue professional development per funding source requirements.
• Strong computer skills and ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, staff and volunteers.
