Neurosurgeon

Hartford Health Care's Ayer Neuroscience Institute is seeking a neurosurgeon to join William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT. The incoming neurosurgeon will step into immediate clinical volume with a primary focus on spine care, supported by a collaborative team and advanced surgical technologies. This opportunity allows providers to practice in a comprehensive health system offering a robust, fully autonomous neurosurgery program.

Practice Info

• Backus Hospital is a 233-bed community hospital with separate Medical and Surgical ICUs, 12 operating rooms, 24/7 trauma and neurohospitalist coverage, and a Level 3 trauma center
• Q3 call schedule supported by mid-levels
• Partnership model between ortho-spine and neuro-spine surgeons with a shared PA service between Neurosurgery and Orthopedics
• Block OR time at Backus Hospital
• Surgical technology includes Globus Robot for spine surgery, Stealth Navigation with O-arm, Zeiss Kinevo Microscope, and ancillary spine equipment
• Position includes two ambulatory clinic locations at Hartford Health Care Family Health Center in Mystic, CT and an Ayer Neuroscience Institute multi-specialty outpatient clinic in Norwich, CT

Compensation

• Base salary, RVU bonus and call pay
• Allotment of capital specifically for equipment
• Salaried position
• Actual pay will be determined based on qualifications, location, internal equity, and other factors that may include hire bonuses, incentive pay plans, loan repayment, administrative stipends, or relocation
