Overview

Responsibilities- Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System.
- Part of a team that develops submarine shipboard alterations.
- Learn while working with an experienced engineering staff.
- Conduct static analysis of mechanical structures.
- Conduct hydrodynamic analyses under a variety of at-sea operational conditions.
- Develop models to predict performance.
- Assist the Design Team with material selection based on in-process stress calculations as well as commercial and/or military specifications.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of design and engineering products.
- Interface with customers and government sponsors.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.
- Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
- Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:
Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces;
Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20’ – 25’) within the submarine. - At least two (2) years business experience in:
- Working with AutoCAD and Auto Desk Inventor or Solid Works.
- Working with MATHCAD Engineering Mathematics Software (or similar software).
- Working with Finite Element Analysis.
- Working with Microsoft Office.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77,600.00/Yr.
- USD $/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
