Shift Detail: First shift 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday – Friday, rotating weekends and holidays.

It is the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties and the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services.
We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities.
Performs the social work functions of bio‑psycho‑social assessment, short‑term crisis intervention, supportive counseling and resource referral. Provides intervention to assist patients/families to improve social and economic difficulties that may interfere with health and wellness. Facilitates discharge planning across the continuum of care.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human services field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Previous social work or human services experience. Two (2) to three (3) years of health‑care experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and effectively communicate information.
- Basic computer skills, including opening and reading email and basic internet use. Working knowledge of Windows‑based software (including Word processing, database and spreadsheet) for occasional performance of duties.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers. Ability to relate to people with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
- Must be organized, flexible and a team player; able to manage time and meet deadlines in a hectic work environment.
- Requires the ability to take the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances or problems. Requires a high level of analytical ability to gather and interpret information from various sources and formulate and implement a viable plan for intervention.
