What success looks like in this role:
- Administer and maintain Linux systems (RHEL 6/7/8/9, Oracle), and UNIX systems (AIX, HP) across multiple client environments.
- Utilize Red Hat KVM for both test and production environments.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and apply security patches.
- Audit systems for compliance with internal and external standards.
- Manage full server lifecycle: provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and decommissioning.
- Collaborate with clients to identify cost‑saving opportunities through automation and centralized reporting.
- Ensure compliance with DoD standards for system security and data handling.
- Install, configure, and update software packages using tools like yum, dnf, or apt.
- Manage repositories and dependencies.
- Participate in on‑call rotation.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
- Linux Administration: 6+ years (RHEL, Oracle).
- Unix Administration: 7+ years (AIX, HPUX).
- Virtualization: VMware ESX, Red Hat KVM.
- Monitoring Tools:
Nagios. - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Local to or within an hour's drive to the Groton or New London, CT area.
