Assistant Director of Patient Transport
Norwich, CT – Crothall Healthcare
Salary: $58,000–$60,000
Other Compensation: Bonus

Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Patient Transport leads Patient Transportation services, overseeing supervisors, finances, client relations, patient satisfaction, quality standards, performance improvement, and staff productivity. The role also organizes and directs all Patient Transport and Hospital activities.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data and statistics.
- Develop and recommend the department’s operating budget.
- Coordinate transportation activities and services with other hospital departments.
- Maintain records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
- Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise departmental functions.
- Establish work standards and workflow.
- Create and enforce policies and procedures for departmental operations.
- Communicate effectively with clients.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Work proactively toward facility goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate proficiency with financial and patient transport software (Team Chimes, Team Transport).
- Manage patient transportation add‑on services (e.g., patient observation, lift, courier, valet, shuttle).
- Four‑year college degree or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience in hospital patient transportation.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Analytical skills for interpreting financial and other data.
- General business acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and service/quality attitude.
- Strong planning, organization, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
- Public speaking skills a must.
