What does the team do?The team predominantly undertakes audit and other assurance work on behalf of our clients, and also prepares accounts and performs tax computations. We handle audit clients across a range of sectors—from smaller not‑for‑profit organisations to entrepreneurial SMEs and large listed groups—providing variety and learning opportunities at every level.
What will I be doing?- Assisting with the planning of moderate‑sized audit engagements and leading onsite teams (80% of time).
- Preparing accounts and drafting tax computations (20% of time).
- Supporting larger audits by completing allocated sections and assisting the in‑charge with conclusions.
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries, escalating complex matters to the assignment leader.
- Reviewing team members’ work before passing the completed file to the appropriate assignment leader.
- Coaching and providing feedback to junior staff on the quality of their work and performance.
- Controlling assignment time in line with pre‑determined budgets.
- Part‑qualified ACA, ICAS, CA or ACCA (minimum).
- Experience of undertaking statutory audits in an accountancy practice in the UK (minimum).
- Knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102.
- Client‑facing experience.
- Experience with audit software (we use Caseware) and Microsoft packages.
