Are you looking to start your career in administration while making a real difference to people’s lives?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Housing Improvement Apprentice Administrator to join our Housing and Community Safety service. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to learn, develop new skills and gain hands‑on experience while working towards an apprenticeship qualification.
AboutThe Role
This is a developmental role where you will provide administrative support to the Health & Housing Improvement Support Team and the wider service. You will gain practical experience across a wide range of activities while receiving structured training.
You will help support essential services that enable residents to live safely and independently in their homes.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting day‑to‑day administration across the service
- Processing payments, raising purchase orders, and maintaining financial records
- Assisting with the administration of grants, including Disabled Facilities Grants
- Coordinating appointments, works schedules and responding to enquiries
- Updating and maintaining accurate records across council systems
- Providing support to triaging enquiries and progressing cases
- Taking notes and supporting meetings when required
You’ll also play a role in supporting partnership working and service improvements, including initiatives such as Support NoW.
About YouWe are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and willing to learn.
You Will Be- Interested in administrative work and supporting public services
- A clear communicator who can work with a wide range of people
- Organised, with good attention to detail
- Able to use IT systems or willing to learn (e.g. Outlook, Word)
- A team player who can follow instructions and use feedback constructively
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) or be willing to achieve these through your apprenticeship
Previous office or customer service experience would be helpful but is not essential.
