About the Role
As our Building Safety Levy Administrator, you will be responsible for administering the Building Safety Levy process from start to finish. You'll assess levy information, determine liability and chargeability, issue notices and payment certificates, conduct compliance checks, and help ensure that levies are collected accurately and efficiently in line with legislation and financial protocols.
You will be a key point of contact for levy-related enquiries, providing clear advice and support to developers and internal teams, while maintaining accurate records and contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
What You'll Be Doing
Administering the end-to-end Building Safety Levy process.
Determining levy chargeability and liability.
Issuing levy determination notices, payment certificates and refunds where required.
Conducting spot checks on levy submissions, including reviewing plans and supporting evidence.
Maintaining accurate records across relevant IT and financial systems.
Supporting review requests and coordinating revised levy calculations.
Preparing quarterly management information returns and revenue transfers to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
Responding to levy-related enquiries from developers and colleagues.
Building effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and documentation.
About You
You will be a highly organised and customer-focused administrator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively. You will have experience working in an administrative environment, be confident using multiple IT systems simultaneously, and possess strong communication skills to deal with customers and stakeholders through a variety of channels. You will be able to handle enquiries professionally, resolve issues sensitively, and maintain accurate records whilst working to deadlines.

A flexible and adaptable approach is essential, along with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work collaboratively with colleagues.
Closing Date: 7th September 2026
Interview Date: 21st September 2026
We offer flexible working hours for most office-based roles, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. As part of our team, you will enjoy a range of employee benefits, including free onsite parking, employee discounts, a competitive holiday allowance, wellbeing initiatives, and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
You will be joining a progressive and supportive organisation that is committed to making a positive impact on the communities we serve.
