Anglian Recruitment are delighted to be working on behalf of a leading M&E Contractor based in Norwich, who are looking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to drive continued growth across their commercial, industrial, and residential divisions.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly reputable and well-established business with a strong local presence, a loyal client base, and ambitious plans for expansion.
You’ll play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing lasting client relationships, and helping shape the company’s growth strategy. The role would suit a proactive, target-driven professional with a solid understanding of the M&E or construction sector.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the M&E, building services, and construction sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and developers
- Attend industry networking events, meetings, and exhibitions to promote company services
- Lead tender opportunities in collaboration with the estimating and commercial teams
- Develop and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and strategic growth plans
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and sector developments
- Manage and track business development pipelines, targets, and performance metrics
- Work closely with senior leadership to align business growth objectives and priorities
You’ll be an ambitious, confident communicator who thrives on building relationships and driving business success.
Essential Skills & Experience- Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management within an M&E, Building Services, or Construction environment
- Strong network and understanding of the local market (East Anglia and beyond)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to spot and develop opportunities
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and target‑driven approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering
- Experience working with Tier 1 / Tier 2 contractors or public sector clients
- Knowledge of tendering processes and frameworks
- Competitive salary (£35,000 - £50,000 DOE)
