The Opportunity
We are seeking a senior or experienced economist with a strong background in regulatory and socio economic analysis, ideally with experience applying these approaches in chemicals regulation, environmental policy or closely related sectors, to join our Chemicals division.
This role is suited to someone who wants to operate at the centre of chemical regulatory decision making, supporting companies, industry associations and public bodies in understanding the economic impacts of regulatory change.
Our work in this area focuses on REACH Authorisation, Restriction and wider regulatory strategy, including delivery of Socio Economic Analysis and Analysis of Alternatives that inform regulatory outcomes across the UK and EU. This role will play a key part in applying economic analysis to real world regulatory decisions in the chemicals sector, including supporting evidence submitted to regulators.
You will contribute to the delivery of technically complex consultancy projects, applying economic analysis to assess impacts on sectors, supply chains, workers and wider society. You will also support the development of new work through proposal preparation, client engagement and technical input to bids.
The role is intended to strengthen the team’s economic capability within chemicals regulation, bringing additional depth in socio economic analysis and regulatory impact assessment.
Experience working in or alongside the chemicals sector would be beneficial, although candidates with strong transferable regulatory economics experience will also be considered.
