Ofsted Registered Manager – EBD Children's Home

Norwich - Salary: £50,000 - £65,000
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead our children's home, which supports young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role is crucial in providing outstanding care and ensuring the safety and positive development of children and young people aged 8–18.
Day-to-day of the role:- Lead and manage the operations of the home in compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Aim to achieve and maintain a “Good” or “Outstanding” Ofsted rating for the home.
- Foster a nurturing and therapeutic environment tailored to the individual needs of each child.
- Oversee and ensure the implementation of effective safeguarding practices across the home.
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled staff team, providing supervision and professional growth opportunities.
- Manage the home’s budget, resources, and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with external stakeholders such as social workers, educational institutions, and healthcare providers.
- Ensure meticulous record-keeping and prepare comprehensive reports for inspections and audits.
- Advocate for the children’s rights and ensure their voices are heard and considered in the home’s operations.
Qualifications:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- At least 2 years’ experience in a residential children’s setting, with a minimum of 1 year in a management or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated success in achieving positive outcomes in Ofsted inspections.
- Extensive knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma‑informed care principles.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Resilience and ability to manage complex situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Enhanced DBS check and registration with Ofsted (or willingness to register).
