Cad Draughtsperson

Draughtsperson (Roofing & Building Envelope) The Opportunity

An established and growing roofing contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Draughtsperson to support its expanding project portfolio. The company delivers a range of commercial and residential roofing projects and has a strong reputation for technical quality and reliable delivery.

This role sits at the heart of the design and delivery function, working closely with project managers, surveyors, and site teams to ensure drawings are accurate, compliant, and buildable.

You will be responsible for producing high‑quality technical drawings to support both pre‑construction and live projects, ensuring designs translate effectively from concept to installation.

• Produce detailed 2D technical drawings for roofing and associated construction works
• Develop construction details, layouts, and installation drawings
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Amend and update drawings in line with client and site requirements
• Provide technical drawing support to estimating and project teams
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and specifications
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain accurate records

• Proven experience as a Draughtsperson / CAD Technician within construction
• Background in roofing, cladding, or building envelope projects is highly desirable
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (essential)
• Solid understanding of construction detailing and methods
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally

• Experience with 3D modelling software (e.g. Revit or similar)
• Knowledge of roofing systems and materials
• Experience producing installation or fabrication drawings

• £40,000–£55,000 salary depending on experience
