Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location:
Norwich Norfolk, with travel to sites. Hybrid working can be considered after probabtion period.
Start Date:
ASAP
Salary: £68,000 - £70,000 per annum and car allowance
Our client is a leading national property services contractor delivering repairs, refurbishment, compliance and building safety solutions across the UK. With a strong reputation for quality delivery and long-term client partnerships, they work extensively within the social housing, public sector and property maintenance sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of planned refurbishment projects within a well-established and supportive environment.
The Role
Reporting into the Commercial Management team, you will be responsible for the commercial and financial performance of planned refurbishment and improvement works, ensuring projects are delivered profitably whilst maintaining strong commercial governance.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the commercial and financial performance of planned refurbishment projects
Producing and reviewing valuations, cost reports, forecasts and commercial reports
Managing subcontractor accounts, applications, payments and final accounts
Pricing, negotiating and controlling variations
Preparing budgets, cash flow forecasts and cost value reconciliations
Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial and delivery objectives are aligned
Ensuring compliance with contract requirements, schedules of rates and client specifications
Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial risks and maximising opportunities
Supporting internal audits, governance processes and reporting requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, refurbishment, planned works or social housing
Experience working on framework-based or planned maintenance contracts
Strong commercial awareness and cost management capability
Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
Sound understanding of contractual and commercial processes
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong IT skills, including Excel and commercial management systems
Desirable
HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
Experience working within local authority, housing association or public sector frameworks
