DescriptionWe are currently forward planning for future roles that may become available as a Ticket Office Clerk based at Norwich Station. If you are successful in your application, you will be placed in our Talent Bank for up to six months. If a suitable opportunity becomes available during that time, you may be offered a role.
Positions may be available as Static or Relief roles, on either a full-time or part-time basis. Static roles offer a consistent shift pattern, giving you visibility of your shifts for the full year. Relief roles provide flexibility, with weekly rosters issued one week before the shift.
Please note that we are unable to accept your application if you do not meet the following criteria:
- You will be working an average of 35 hours per week over 4 days, between Monday – Saturday with occasional Sunday working. This role is shift-based and includes early starts, late finishes, weekends, and bank holiday working. Earliest shift starts from 04:15 and latest finish 21:10.
- You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts.

This role will involve you supporting our customers by assisting them with using our ticket machines based around the station, as well as guiding our customers on new ticketing technology such as the smart card, and use of our mobile phone app. Full training and uniform are provided upon joining.
Key Responsibilities- Greeting customers, selling tickets, and addressing customer inquiries, emphasising a customer service-oriented approach with a friendly demeanor.
- Support customers using ticket machines located throughout the station and provide guidance on new ticketing technologies, including smart cards and mobile apps.
- Ensure adherence to safety, security, and cash regulations while maintaining ticket machines.
- Utilise company systems such as Fujitsu Star (ticket office sales machine) and Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs).
- Conduct security checks as part of the station security plan (SSP), with varying frequencies depending on the station, including monitoring for left items, securing waste bins, and checking that doors are locked or secured.
- Have a friendly, approachable demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively
