This is a part-time locum consultant appointment for a fixed term period of 12 months for 9.25 PA's per week. The successful applicant would join a team of 19 Consultants.
Candidates should have a primary interest in lung and CNS cancers, although other interests may be accommodated. Due to the nature of these disease sites, the post would be well suited to a clinical oncologist. The post holder will be joining a team of three clinical oncologists (two in lung and one in CNS) and 2 specialist nurses.

The city is only 2 hours by train from the center of London.

Main duties of the jobThe post holder will principally be part of the lung and CNS (or other as agreed) MDTs, with responsibility for delivering SACT (+/- Radiotherapy, including SA ) to expertise within the department allowing for flexibility and internal reorganisation, applicants with an interest in other tumor sites are also strongly encouraged to apply. The appointee would be expected to see approximately 300 new patients annually and to participate in an approximately 1:13 on call rota.
The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.
All consultants, including the appointee, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust's Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.
The appointee will be a member of the Consultant Staff Committee and be expected to serve on this committee.

- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register Via; o CCT (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) o CESR or o European Community Rights o An appropriate higher qualification.
