Position Overview
A Vacancy at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a new full‑time clinical fellow post in response to service needs within the vasculitis team. The post is offered for a period of up to 12 months and is suitable for doctors with at least 2 years of middle‑grade rheumatology experience, who are currently in a rheumatology training programme or have a CCT in rheumatology.
Full GMC Registration with licence to practise is essential.
- Attend clinics and contribute to the middle grade rheumatology on call (1:4).
- Facilitate and clerk referrals to the ultrasonography‑led GCA pathway.
- Acute rheumatology cover during working hours only – no out of hours commitment, including no need to cover weekends.
- At least 2 years middle grade rheumatology experience.
- Currently in a rheumatology training programme or as a post‑CCT fellowship.
- Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
- A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole‑time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services through the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (1,000 beds) and Cromer and District Hospital, including specialist services such as oncology and radiotherapy, neonatology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, rheumatology, paediatric medicine and surgery. Our staff of over 7,000 treat more than one million patients; people from Norfolk, neighbouring counties and further afield.
Our patients are referred to us by around 100 local GP practices but also from other acute hospitals and primary care trusts around the country. As a university teaching hospital we have developed our research and development strategy in partnership with the University of East Anglia. We also work closely with our partners on the Norwich Research Park and Norwich Radiology Academy to take forward our ambitious targets for research and development.
