Job
Responsibilities- An inspirational and enthusiastic Head of Rowing to lead training our crews from J14 to Senior.
- Coach our crews during term time on two afternoons a week (Tuesday and Thursday 1pm-4pm) and a Saturday morning for beginners and more experienced rowers (4 hours).
- Deliver two early morning strength and conditioning sessions (Tuesday and Thursday, 7.15-8.15am) and one early morning rowing session (Wednesday, 6.00-8.15am).
- Allow time for administration and other sports clubs as time permits.
- Possess coaching expertise and a high standard of rowing knowledge; preferably hold British Rowing Coaching Level 2 (or working towards) and RYA Powerboat Level 2.
- Motivate staff and students and line-manage a minimum of two support rowing coaches.
- Ability to drive a school minibus is advantageous to transport pupils to the boathouse.
- Work flexibly across the school year based on rowing conditions and regattas; there is a requirement to work 10 days during school closure periods.
- Clear passion for rowing coaching and leading on the competitive performance of about 40 rowers across the school.
- Proven coaching experience at a high standard or as a performer.
- British Rowing Coaching Level 2 (or working towards) and RYA Powerboat Level 2 (desirable).
- Ability to motivate both staff and students; experience in line managing staff.
Norwich High School for Girls was founded in 1875 and is an independent day school for girls aged 3-18 with approximately 600 pupils. It is part of The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST).
