They operate junior summer schools for international students aged 10-18 years in nine locations across the UK:
London, Hatfield, Bath, Edinburgh, Hull, Liverpool, Norwich, Colchester, and Dorset. The schools are based on university or further education college campuses and offer residential accommodation along with teaching and leisure facilities on site. Summer courses provide a balanced mix between learning in the classroom and learning during activities and on excursions.

They need English Language Teachers to teach classes of international students from 28th June 2026 to 24th July 2026 (and beyond in smaller numbers). This can be on a full board residential or non residential basis. You would be required to attend an on-site induction day on Sunday 28th June.

Role
  • Teach junior students on short summer courses.
  • Work mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday, delivering 4 × 1.5‑hour lessons per day. At the Colchester site, classes also occur on Saturday with Wednesday off.
  • Timetables run from around 9:00 am to around 5:30 pm, providing approximately 30 contact hours per week.
  • All teachers receive an on-site induction with the Director of Studies.
  • Use the in‑house syllabus and a range of centre‑specific teaching materials.
Responsibilities
  • Attend the paid, on‑site induction before students arrive (28th June).
  • Read the teachers’ manual, CPD manual, employee handbook and all pre‑course information.
  • Test, induct new students and assist the DOS with marking tests.
  • Assist with general academic administration and record maintenance, including promptly completing registers and paperwork.
  • Write end‑of‑course academic reports and issue certificates/awards for all students.
  • Prepare adequately for all teaching and activity sessions.
  • Keep classrooms neat and tidy; return equipment and resources to the teacher’s room.
  • Attend all staff meetings.
  • Follow the in‑house syllabus and teach a programme appropriate to a summer school environment.
  • Deliver effective, communicative, student‑centred lessons.
  • Deliver Enterprise English workshops if required.
  • Maintain proper levels of student discipline and report unwanted behaviour immediately to the DOS.
  • Ensure students study at the correct level and report any class changes necessary to the DOS.
  • Enthusiastically support the activities programme both inside and outside of class.
  • Be involved with activities and excursions as necessary.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the centre.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • CELTA/Trinity TESOL (a PGCE with QTS in MFL, English or Primary QTS may also be considered).
  • Experience teaching ESL.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or will be applied for).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience teaching classes of 15–18 students.
  • Genuine interest in working with young people.
  • Ability to cope with long working hours.
  • Ability to work in multiple buildings across the campus.
  • Extremely professional and customer‑focused.
  • Able to plan lessons and provide post‑lesson feedback.
  • Experience teaching in summer schools is preferred (not essential).
Rate
  • £550 per week (residential) and £720 per week (non‑residential), plus holiday pay paid at the end of the contract.

For safeguarding purposes, an Enhanced DBS check is required for all staff, and if living overseas a valid police clearance certificate is also required. Two professional references will be required for all staff.
