Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a committed and conscientious individual who would like to contribute to the success of our school to join our team of brilliant Learning Support Assistants.

The successful candidates will provide in‑class support or work with small groups of students with Special Educational Needs to help overcome barriers to learning and build confidence, competence and independence. This is an entry level role with opportunities to develop within the role, and to progress internally when opportunities arise. School based experience is desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities

Provide in‑class support for students with Special Educational Needs, assist teachers with lesson delivery, manage student behaviour and challenge underperformance, encourage students to learn and inspire a strong work ethic, work constructively as part of a team and assist with classroom roles and responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills
  • Effective communication and ability to relate well with students and staff
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team and understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to manage student behaviour and challenge under performance
Working Hours

31 hours per week over 5 days. Normal working hours are 8.35am to 3.10pm, Monday to Friday (finish at 4.00pm on Wednesday). Working term time plus one week, 39 weeks per year.
