We are seeking to appoint a committed academic to lead our BA (Hons) Acting course post offers an exciting opportunity to develop a critically engaged curriculum and work closely with colleagues across disciplines to collaborate through teaching and research.
ResponsibilitiesThe postholder will work closely with the Director of Film, Fashion and Performance and other Course Leaders in the programme area, and will:
- lead, manage and promote the BA (Hons) Acting award;
- teach across the programme, applying specialist knowledge and advancing pedagogy, research and knowledge exchange;
- shape the future of Acting at Norwich by fostering inclusive and culturally competent student experiences;
- collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, delivering significant collaborative projects and exploring employability and career opportunities for students;
- maintain a strong on‑campus presence to support student education and community engagement.
You will be an enthusiastic leader with the vision, insight, commitment and skills to shape Acting didates should:
- demonstrate experience in applying a wide range of acting methodologies, practitioner approaches and rehearsal processes to undergraduate actor training;
- exhibit subject expertise in two or more core areas, including:
- acting for stage and screen
- voice and vocal production
- movement and/or physical theatre
- directing
- devising
- scene study
- monologue work
- performance theory
- practice‑based research
- demonstrate sustained engagement as a practitioner, researcher and/or industry professional;
- possess a strong network of key partners and contemporary industry contacts and the ability to develop and deliver collaborative projects;
- have excellent organisational, management and team‑building skills, and a track record of enhancing student educational experience and outcomes.
Salary: £53,000 to £60,000 per annum
