English Teacher

About the role

Justteachers are working in partnership with a well‑established Secondary school in Norwich, who are seeking a creative and committed English Teacher to join their team on a full‑time, long‑term supply basis, starting ASAP.

This school has a strong focus on literacy, communication, and academic progress, supporting pupils to develop confidence in reading, writing, and spoken language. The English department is collaborative and well‑resourced, with clear schemes of work and supportive leadership in place.

• Plan and deliver high quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Support pupils with exam technique and extended writing tasks
• Use a range of assessment methods to monitor pupil progress
• Encourage discussion, debate, and confident use of spoken language
• Maintain a positive and purposeful classroom environment
• Contribute to department planning and collaboration

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
• Two recent references
• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 level
• Secure subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
• Strong classroom presence and effective behaviour management
• A proactive and adaptable approach to long‑term supply work
