Permanent, Term Time Plus 1 Week, 15 hours per week

Responsible to the Director of Subject for ensuring that a safe, effective and efficient service is provided, giving technical advice and assistance in the classroom and assisting teaching staff with learning activities. This is a rare opportunity for somebody who is pro‑active, flexible and multi‑skilled to contribute to the success of student learning. Previous experience of working with young people, or in an educational environment, would be an advantage.

• Provide safe, effective and efficient art and ceramics services.
• Give technical advice and assistance in the classroom.
• Assist teaching staff with learning activities related to art and ceramics.

• The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others.
• Maintain positive relationships and work effectively as part of a team, being willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team.
• Accept responsibility for your own actions; prioritise effectively, meet deadlines, and accept challenges.

• Have a genuine and keen interest in art and design.
• Possess a high degree of organisational ability.
• Be resourceful and proactive.
• Have access to a car and a full driving licence.

• A good level of literacy and numeracy.
• Experience of working either in an art studio environment or in a successful art department.
• Good knowledge of ceramics studio processes including, but not limited to, clay reclaim processes, kiln firing, glazing.
• Computer literate – able to use Microsoft and online platforms for design and administrative purposes.
