Higher Education Support Officer (Employability and Progression)
26 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
£30,941 per annum pro rata, (£21,742 actual per annum)

City College Norwich is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Student Support Officer to play a key role in supporting Higher Education students to achieve their progression goals.

We are looking for a candidate with experience of student support, careers education, advice and guidance, ideally within a Higher Education setting. A relevant qualification in Careers Advice and Guidance would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of supporting students with their next steps in employment, or further study. The role will also contribute to the achievement of Access and Participation Plan targets by engaging and supporting students from under-represented groups.

Key responsibilities

· Provide individual and group guidance to Higher Education students and apprentices on career planning and progression opportunities.

· Support students with interview preparation, CV development, personal statements and applications for employment or further study.

· Promote awareness of progression pathways and opportunities available through our Higher Education programmes.

· Lead the operational management of the College's HE Professional Skills Awards.

· Coordinate and oversee nominations for annual the Higher Education course awards, working closely with course leaders.

· Contribute to the planning and delivery of open days, careers events, UCAS fairs and other student recruitment and progression activities.

About the role
The role involves regular contact with students across our campuses and occasional visits to schools, sixth forms and external events. Travel between sites will therefore be required. A full driving licence and access to transport would be desirable.
