We are looking to expand our Advice & Guidance team and are looking for people who have the ability to inspire, excellent communication and presentation skills and a desire to help students realise their career potential. We can invest in your professional development which will be fully supported along the way.
The Adviser position would be working at our bustling Ipswich Road campus in Norwich. Working with likeminded people, the role requires team work, flexibility and problem solving skills to deal with the variety of enquiries we receive. General day to day duties would include providing advice and guidance to potential students through drop in appointments, emails and telephone enquiries, live chat, school liaison activities and open days.
Support for existing students will be in the form of drop in appointments, presenting employability workshops and talks enabling students to succeed in the next stage of their development and supporting our Careers Advisers with any planned activities throughout the year. There is also involvement with the UCAS applications, assisting with personal statement writing, how to apply and making choices for next steps.
The post will include some evening and weekend work throughout the year.
The ideal candidates will have experience of working in Advice & Guidance, have a background in education, an understanding of the local labour market and knowledge of the employability skills required for various roles and positions. However we are open to applications from anyone with relevant transferable skills and are able to mentor new staff through their qualifications to reach Level 6 status.
