Are you passionate about creating positive futures for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you hold a Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification and have the ambition to shape and develop inclusive careers provision across a large and diverse college?

We are looking for an experienced and motivated SEND Specialist Careers Adviser to join our well-established Student Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled careers professional to play a strategic role in developing and enhancing careers education, information, advice and guidance for learners with additional needs, ensuring they are supported to achieve ambitious and meaningful progression outcomes.

Based primarily at our Norwich campus, the role will also involve working across our Easton and Paston campuses.

Working closely with curriculum teams, SEND colleagues, Careers Leaders and external partners, you will provide specialist one-to-one and group careers guidance to learners with SEND, supporting them to navigate progression routes into further education, higher education, apprenticeships, supported internships and employment. You will help ensure careers education is fully embedded within study programmes and aligned to Preparation for Adulthood pathways and EHCP outcomes.

This role extends beyond direct guidance delivery. You will take a lead role in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of an inclusive careers programme, contributing to the College's wider careers strategy and Gatsby Benchmark achievement. You will use learner progression and destination data to evaluate impact, identify opportunities for improvement and inform strategic planning.

The successful candidate will also build strong relationships with employers, supported employment providers and other external agencies to create meaningful encounters and opportunities for SEND learners. In addition, you will contribute to staff development through the creation of resources and delivery of CPD, helping colleagues across the College build confidence and expertise in inclusive careers education.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification, have experience of delivering professional careers guidance and a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing young people with SEND. You will be an excellent communicator, confident presenter and collaborative practitioner, with the ability to influence others and drive positive change.

Experience of working within education and a sound understanding of progression pathways, employability and the local labour market would be advantageous.

The post will include some evening and weekend work throughout the year.
The role is being offered as a full-time, fixed term position until December 2028 and comes with excellent benefits.
