Job Description & How to Apply Below

Norwich University of the Arts are looking for a Senior Lecturer to lead the development and delivery of our innovative Level 5 Diploma in Creative Professional Development. The diploma is an optional additional year, between years 2 and 3 within our undergraduate courses. It has been designed to meet the needs of students with limited work experience and those who want to think more broadly about their career options.

The role involves working closely with the Associate Director, Communication Design, Business and Psychology, and with our Business and Employability team. The main aspect of the role is to lead the design, delivery and assessment of the diploma. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the design and delivery of taught sessions in entrepreneurship and enterprise across the university. The role requires the ability to build strong links across the academic programmes and the employability team.

You will have expertise in teaching and coaching students in work placement strategies and their preparation for employment and future business ventures, together with experience of supporting students with specific learning differences and diverse life experiences. Academic experience of leading year groups, units or modules at HE level would be advantageous. We particularly welcome applications from academics who have combined teaching with lived experience of business start-up, preferably in the creative industries.

The successful applicant will be an excellent teacher who puts inclusivity at the heart of their practice. You will be an advocate for your discipline, promoting the courses to prospective students and teachers, both at home and internationally. You will have the ability to work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, bringing diverse voices into our student experience and ensuring the support we give our students is culturally competent.

You will have the ambition to equip students with the social and cultural capital that will allow them to confidently grasp graduate-level opportunities and challenges. You will be a strong team player able to demonstrate excellent skills in communication, organisation and management.
