About the role:
justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Norwich who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting children in reaching their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pupils across Key Stage 2, providing classroom support and targeted interventions to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The school prides itself on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive. This role would suit someone with previous school-based experience or an individual looking to develop a long-term career within primary education.
Key Responsibilities:- Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classes
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
- Assist class teachers with the preparation and delivery of engaging learning activities
- Support pupils with varying learning needs to access the curriculum effectively
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence in learning
- Deliver targeted intervention sessions to support pupil progress
- Assist with classroom organisation and the preparation of learning resources
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Contribute to the wider school community and support extracurricular activities where appropriate
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
- Experience supporting Key Stage 2 pupils is desirable
- A positive, patient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff
- The ability to build positive relationships and act as a positive role model
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A genuine passion for education and supporting pupil achievement
- Two recent professional references
