Senior Design Engineer – Thetford, Norfolk

Duration:
Permanent, Full time – Monday to Friday. Salary up to £50,000 per annum.

Our client is a leading manufacturer seeking an experienced or senior design engineer to join their team.

• Oversee design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Develop and optimise engineering solutions, including detailed calculations, reports, and sketches.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring alignment and integration of design efforts.
• Ensure all design complies with relevant regulatory standards and internal quality requirements.
• Participate in quality‑improvement processes and lean manufacturing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Proficiency in 3D modelling and 2D drawings with Autodesk Inventor.
• Mechanical design experience (5+ years ideally).
• Experience designing equipment for fabrication using steel.
• Occasional visits to sites for surveys and client meetings.
• Experience in finite element analysis.
