Position: Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)

Temporary Works Co‑ordinator (National Highway Contractor)

Temporary Works Co‑ordinator required for major highways improvement in the Norfolk area for a National Highway's contractor. Our clients have an ongoing programme of works in the region, specifically on this major improvement in the area which requires an experienced Temporary Works Co‑ordinator with experience in Highways, drainage, and structures.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Possess an up‑to‑date TWC certificate and fully understand duties to comply with regulations and approved codes of practice.
  • Previous experience managing temporary works in compliance with civil engineering business procedures and systems.
  • Own and ensure the temporary works register is updated; act as the lead interface point for engagement between end user and temporary works designer.
  • Chair temporary works interdisciplinary design check meetings.
  • Ensure the technical assurance processes and workflows for AIP's, design and design check certificates are rigorously followed to secure TAA approval prior to construction.
  • Previous experience following and leading assurance processes in relation to highways and railway authorities preferred.
  • Previous experience optioneering and appreciation of commercial outcomes in relation to temporary works design and methods.
  • Manage and ensure temporary works inspections are followed in compliance with regulations and business processes.
  • Appoint temporary works designers.
  • Appoint TWSs.
  • Involve in the ITP appraisal procedures to ensure temporary works hold points and requisite testing and quality criteria are met and in place.
  • Manage and control the Permit to load/Permit to Proceed/Permit to Unload business processes and procedures.
  • Successful experience at a management engineering level in construction (on-site), specifically in civil engineering and/or highways.
  • CSCS card.
