Help Deliver a More Sustainable Future with Anglian Water

Are you looking to take the next step in your engineering career? Do you want to be part of a team delivering essential water infrastructure that directly benefits communities and the environment? We're looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the @one Alliance-a collaborative partnership between Anglian Water and eight other industry-leading organisations. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of clean water and water recycling projects, helping ensure assets are tested, optimised, and ready for operation before handover.

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills and contribute to the delivery of vital infrastructure, while being part of a values-driven, supportive engineering environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you'll play a key role in commissioning activities across a broad range of projects. With a focus on safety, quality, and performance, you'll help ensure that new assets function as intended and deliver long-term value for our customers and the environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning and execution of commissioning activities on site
  • Collaborating with design, delivery, and operational teams to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Assisting in site inspections, testing, and performance verification of new assets
  • Producing and maintaining commissioning documentation, including method statements and risk assessments
  • Helping to resolve technical issues and optimise performance
  • Participating in site acceptance testing and early engagement with equipment suppliers
  • Feeding into continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned processes
About You

You're a hands-on engineer with a collaborative mindset and a passion for technical delivery. You're comfortable working in dynamic site environments and are eager to learn from experienced colleagues while contributing your own expertise.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A HNC (or equivalent Level 4 qualification) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
  • Some relevant experience in commissioning, operations, or maintenance (preferably within the water or utilities sector)
  • A good understanding of process control, instrumentation, or M&E systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to learn and adapt
Why Join Us?

At Anglian Water and the @one Alliance, we're committed to building a sustainable future and supporting our people to grow. You'll work on impactful projects, benefit from continuous development, and be part of a collaborative team that values safety, innovation, and integrity.

You’ll benefit from:
  • A competitive salary and opportunities for progression
  • Private health care options
  • Life cover - 8x annual salary
  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays (with flexibility for religious holidays)
  • Access to flexible working arrangements
  • A competitive pension scheme - we double-match contributions up to 7%
  • A range of lifestyle and wellbeing benefits
