Therole
The Engineering department has a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Maintenance Technician to join the team.
What youll be doingReporting to the Workshop Manager, the role will cover:
- Mechanical maintenance on a variety of process plants including; pumps, vessels, separation equipment, heat exchangers, hydraulic /pneumatic and piping systems.
- Reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
- Basic electrical work on such items as electric motors and starter circuits.
- Complete mechanical assembly and pipe preparation tasks.
- Valve repair/ refurbishment including pressure testing.
- Undertaking accurate CMMS report writing and record keeping, ensuring an auditable closed loop system.
- Operation and maintenance of the CHP plant, which includes gas compression, steam generation, electricity generation.
- Daily and weekly monitoring of plant.
- Equipment failure Root Cause Analysis.
- Promote and adhere to high standards of housekeeping and engineering hygiene.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in an out of hours call-out rota
, once deemed competent, for which they will receive additional remuneration.
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical maintenance discipline.
- Relevant hands-on experience in engineering maintenance (a minimum of 3 years).
- Boiler repairs and maintenance experience.
- PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and basic electrical skills.
- The ability to multi-task and problem solve, using reliability data to identify improvement needs.
- Be able to work flexibly and have a positive attitude.
- Have the ability to communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.
Desirable:
- An understanding of boiler operations, maintenance and repair.
- An understanding of pump and valve maintenance.
- Experience of working in an industrial workplace with high hazard environments, and knowledge of applicable regulations and safe systems of work.
- Relevant mechanical experience of fixed and rotating equipment.
- Electrical experience to ensure effective interaction with ECI disciplines.
- Member of a nationally recognised body e.g. Engineering Council.
