We're supporting a leading manufacturing business in their search for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their engineering team in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical background to join a highly automated manufacturing environment. Working a day-based Monday to Friday schedule, you'll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, improving equipment performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across site.

Core Duties:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across production plant and equipment

Responding to breakdowns and performing reactive maintenance to minimise downtime

Fault finding on mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automated production systems

Supporting continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and equipment uptime

Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent repeat failures

Leading small engineering projects and improvement initiatives

Managing spare parts requirements and supporting engineering stock control

Supporting equipment modifications and change control activities

Acting as Permit Issuer and supporting safe systems of work across the site Providing engineering support, coaching, and knowledge sharing across operational teams

About You:

NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Previous experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment

Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems

Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systems

Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor systems, drives, sensors, and electrical control gear Understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles

Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance

Able to work independently and contribute positively within a team environment
