Finance Manager

An established and growing privately owned business is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead its finance operations. This is a pivotal appointment within a dynamic SME environment, offering broad exposure and genuine influence over commercial and strategic decision-making.

This role would suit a technically strong and commercially aware accountant who enjoys operating in a hands-on capacity, taking full ownership of the finance function while acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership.

As the senior finance lead within the business, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, reporting, and control. You will play a key role in supporting business performance, ensuring robust financial governance, and providing insight to help shape future growth.

The position offers significant variety and autonomy, covering everything from core financial operations through to strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial reporting

* Develop budgets, forecasts, and longer-term financial plans

* Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning

* Provide commercial analysis, scenario modelling, and financial input into strategic initiatives

* Oversee VAT compliance and statutory reporting requirements

* Maintain fixed asset records and ensure strong financial controls

* Review payroll outputs and ensure accuracy and compliance

* Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisers, and banking partners

* Support funding discussions and maintain lender relationships

* Deliver clear financial insight and performance reporting to senior stakeholders

* Provide support with governance and statutory compliance requirements

You will ideally be Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with proven experience operating in a broad, hands-on finance role within an SME or owner-managed environment.
