An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead the Emergency Department Stop Smoking Service across Norfolk’s three acute hospital Trusts. Based at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, the role involves regular travel to James Paget University Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital to coordinate and support service delivery.
As Lead TDA you will proactively engage adult smokers, deliver brief interventions, advice, vape kits, and evidence‑based support to help individuals start their journey toward stopping smoking.
Responsibilities- Organise and mobilise Tobacco Dependency Advisors across the three hospital sites as part of the Provide management team.
- Line‑manage the Norfolk Emergency Department Stop Smoking Service Tobacco Dependency Advisors.
- Support programme phases such as planning, design, implementation and evaluation.
- Liaise with the vape starter kit provider, manage data entry on the order platform and communicate with participants about accessing top‑up e‑liquid.
- Reduce smoking prevalence and smoking‑related health inequalities by providing evidence‑based support in Emergency Departments.
- Reduce future ED attendances and hospital admissions linked to smoking‑related conditions.
- Increase quit attempts and successful cessation outcomes.
- Support the Government’s ambition for Smokefree communities by 2030.
- Embed the smoking cessation offer as part of a whole‑system approach in collaboration with acute, community and public health partners.
- NCSCT Practitioner trained
- NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care
- Car owner/driver
- Making Every Contact Count training or willingness to undertake it
- Service / pathway development experience
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Line management experience
- Project coordination
- Proficiency with IT systems such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Pharm Outcomes
