An exciting opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Norwich Place Senior Leadership Team as a Quality Matron for the Community Nursing and Therapy team.
This role includes providing clinical and operational leadership to the Community Nursing and Therapy teams in Norwich and providing guidance on safety, patient experience, and clinical effectiveness. As a member of the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will represent the Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust at local and Norfolk-wide multi‑agency meetings, embed the trust's values within their locality, and support learning and development of staff.
Mainduties of the job
- Lead the quality agenda to include safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness as part of the place management team.
- Provide clinical leadership across inpatient and community settings.
- Provide operational leadership to named services identified in the place or locality structure.
- Work with primary care network (PCN) partners on the quality and safety agenda.
- Lead workforce development for the place.
- Represent the trust at local and pan Norfolk multi‑agency meetings.
- Support embedding of quality improvement methodology.
- Embed the trust's values within the place and contribute to ensuring strategic objectives are delivered.
- Support the development of staff and learners, promoting a robust learning culture.
Provide leadership to deliver quality improvement in safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness, embedding a safety culture ethos. Oversee all teams to include leading innovation and learning from incidents, work with the place to ensure a responsive and proactive approach to managing and learning from concerns, complaints and a robust risk management system with appropriate escalation. Lead continuous quality improvement required for harm‑free care, safeguarding and infection control, monitor practice and compliance, and create and promote a learning culture supporting practice change.
Ensure internal assurance meets quality standards and reporting to the CCG.
Contribute to operational management of services within the place/locality. Work with Social Care Leads to establish integrated pathways, support evidence‑based best practice and active participation in the Local Safeguarding Adults Partnership for multi‑agency safeguarding.
Clinical
:
Maintain clinical credibility by acting regularly as a clinical practitioner in own area of expertise, role‑modeling and supporting staff and learners through regular shifts. Be highly visible, accessible and approachable to staff, patients and the public to create and sustain open communication channels, provide advice internally and externally, and act as a coach/mentor. Lead and ensure high standards of practice aligned with NHS and government targets.
Ensure all staff comply with trust and NHS policies on infection control, NEWS2, RESPECT, and NICE guidance. Support long‑term plans for preventative care, adopting a coaching approach to empower patients to manage their own care.
Management
:
Line‑manage people and services when identified, completing performance reviews, development plans, HR activities (recruiting, appraisal, disciplinary, capability, grievance). Represent the place at multi‑agency meetings. Resolve conflicts, investigate accidents and incidents, implement corrective action in partnership with the Clinical Quality Director and Operations Director. Oversee governance and risk management, including Health and Safety and action planning. Support the Clinical Quality Director and Operations Director in maintaining the information governance asset register and implementing the IG strategy.
