Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Staff Nurses to work with children and families from antenatal to 19 years to work within our Single Point of Access “Just One Number”.

You will be self‑motivated, able to demonstrate empathy and enjoy working in a fast paced, friendly environment. It is important that you have strong communication, digital and leadership skills and be able to demonstrate experience of partnership working with proven ability to innovate and find solutions in delivering a safe and effective service.
You will have excellent verbal, written and computer skills and demonstrate a commitment to your own personal and professional development as well as supporting the development of others in the team.
To respond to the health needs of the local population, Just One Number operates 5 days a week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

Key Responsibilities- Clinical triage of new referrals, telephone and digital support for clients/service use via text and video call drop‑in; undertaking of initial assessments.
- Delegation of cases within the team or transfer out to locality/specialist pathway, signposting or supporting onward referrals.
- Provide a child‑centred, inclusive, holistic and accessible public health programme to children aged 0‑19, their families and communities, establishing links with children, families, schools, communities and agencies.
- Promote the physical and emotional well‑being of children and young people, supporting them to establish good health now and in the future; promote early intervention, health promotion, advocacy, empowerment, social inclusion and the reduction of health inequalities.
- Complete contacts by telephone or via video platform to support the range of issues experienced by children and young people aged 0‑19 and their families, including responding to messages on Parent line and our text messaging service for parents; adopt a Think Family Approach at all times.
- Current NMC registration.
- Self‑motivated with demonstrated empathy in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication, digital and leadership skills.
- Experience of partnership working with proven ability to innovate and find solutions in delivering a safe and effective service.
- Excellent verbal, written and computer skills with a commitment to personal and professional development.
