This is a new, part-time consultant appointment to support the development of our Immunology service, and the continuation of our UKAS accreditation.

Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be expected to provide a comprehensive Clinical Immunology Service for all users of the laboratory. The consultant will provide expert support for analytical quality and assay implementation, diagnosis and management of immunological disease, advice on appropriate investigations on an individual patient basis, and determine the services provided by the Clinical Biochemistry/Immunology Department within the resources made available to the Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA).
The post holder will be expected to participate in Research and Development activities within Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology, and within the Trust and the University of East Anglia, as appropriate, including the development of databases to enable research and audit.
The Consultant will be actively involved in training, particularly clinical scientists, biomedical scientists, other allied health professionals, and students of medicine, and may also be involved in Specialty Trainees training.
