At Insignia Healthcare Group, we are looking for a confident, compassionate and outgoing Support Worker to join the team supporting a deaf woman in her 20s who lives at home with her fiancé in Taverham, Norwich.

She has a busy and sociable lifestyle and enjoys music festivals, football matches, swimming, dog walking, baking, spending time with family and travelling abroad. She also enjoys keeping her home clean and tidy and is currently planning her wedding.

Could you be the right match?

This is an active and highly person-centred role
, so we are looking for someone who enjoys getting involved and can support her to maintain the lifestyle she loves.

She has complex care needs including:

• Spinal injury
• Complex moving and handling
• Support with communication due to deafness

Experience with British Sign Language (BSL) would be a fantastic advantage, although this isn't essential if you are enthusiastic about learning.

We need someone who can keep up with her lifestyle!

Finding the right match is extremely important. You will need to be physically able to safely meet the genuine requirements of the role
, including complex moving and handling, wheelchair support, community activities, swimming and dog walking.

Driving is essential, as you will drive her wheelchair-accessible vehicle for social activities, appointments and outings.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Physically capable – able to safely undertake the moving and handling and activities required
• A confident driver – comfortable driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle
• Open to new experiences – including festivals, football, swimming, holidays and days out
• Willing to learn – particularly around communication and BSL

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to be part of her life, not simply provide care to her.

Key Details:

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts
• Day & Sleep-in shifts:
• Pay: £14.60ph & £12.71 (For Sleep-in shifts)
• Location: Taverham, Norwich
• Contract: Full Time & Part-time, with a fixed rota
• Driving Essential
• Applicants must be aged 25+ due to insurance requirements
