The RoleAs a Data Governance Lead
, you will be responsible for developing and implementing enterprise‑wide data governance strategies and frameworks. You will define governance objectives, establish structures and policies, and ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the organisation. You will also work with governance tools such as Collibra to support data quality, lineage, and metadata management.
- Develop and implement enterprise‑wide data governance strategies and roadmaps.
- Define governance objectives, KPIs, and success metrics.
- Establish governance structures, roles, and responsibilities.
- Create and enforce data governance policies, standards, procedures, and data security and privacy controls.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Oversee data classification, ownership models, and lifecycle management.
- Define and monitor data quality standards and metrics.
- Collaborate with data owners and stewards to resolve data quality issues.
- Implement metadata management processes and supporting tools.
- Maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data lineage documentation.
- Monitor access controls, encryption standards, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct training and awareness programmes on data governance practices.
- Promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability across the organisation.
- Manage and optimise data governance platforms, such as Collibra and BigID.
- Leverage AI and machine learning tools to enhance compliance, classification, and automation.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of governance policies and controls.
- Present dashboards, insights, and governance reports to senior leadership.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Strong experience in Data Governance.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Experience with data privacy regulations and compliance standards.
