Dev Ops Engineer (DV) - Contract - Wiltshire - £competitive
Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Dev Ops Engineer to work at a leading Defence client on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will work in a hands-on rolethat combines technical engineering with leadership, ownership, and mentoring. You’ll work closely with engineering teams, stakeholders, and customers to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
Responsibilities include:Design, build, maintain, and supportCI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks,and containerised environments.
Take ownership of engineering work packages from planning and estimation throughto delivery and reporting.
Develop and review
Infrastructure as Code, automation solutions,and technical documentation.
Implement Dev Ops solutions across secure environments, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Dev Ops Engineers and Technicians.
Work collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders, and customers to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
Contribute to engineering standards, governance, and best practice.
Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement across the development and delivery lifecycle.
Experience required:A demonstrable background in Dev Ops engineering which includes a strong understanding ofCI/CD principles and version control,particularly
Git.
Hands-on experience with automation and Infrastructure as Codetools such asAnsibleand
Terraform.
Proficiency in oneor more scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, orPower
Shell.
Practical knowledge of containerisation technologies, including
Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such asAWS and/or Azure.
An understanding ofcyber security principles and secure system delivery.
The ability totake ownership of technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (DV).
